Traditionally, in Indonesia there is a sweet dish usually served as dessert for open fasting called Bubur sumsum. Yes, you heard it right, a rice porridge but tastes sweet. It tastes creamy, sweet, savory and such a comforting food made from glutinous rice flour, coconut milk and also the sweet taste from coconut sugar syrup. Ingredients
For the rice porridge:
- 100 gr Glutinous rice flour
- 1lt water
- 200 ml Coconut milk
- 3 pandan leaves
For the palm sugar syrup:
- 250 gr palm sugar
- 500 ml water
- 3 pandan leaves
- 1 spoon of glutinous rice flour + 50 ml water
Instruction
For the porridge:
- Place 100 gr of glutinous rice flour into a pan with the stove off
- Pour 1 litre of water into the pan
- Add 200 ml of coconut milk
- Add 3 pandan leaves
- After putting all the ingredients, stir until there are no lumps
- After that, turn on the stove and stir until it thickens.
For the palm sugar syrup:
- Put 250 gr of palm sugar, you can use our Organic Coconut Sugar to make the syrup to the pan
- Pour 500 ml of water
- Add 3 pandan leaves
- Last, Add a mix of 1 spoon glutinous rice flour and 50 ml water to make the syrup thickens.
- Stir it until the fragrance of the pandan leaves come out
